Hacks for Female Entrepreneurs That Will Make You Love Your Business Even More

This post shows you the best self care tips for female entrepreneurs!

Congratulations! You’ve been working hard at starting a business but are you practicing self-care?

Does the thought of luxurious bubble baths, face masks, and lotions might come to mind?

Don’t get me wrong, while those things are required too: self-care is so much more than that—especially for women chasing entrepreneurship.

I’ve never been a fan of hustle culture. It’s not my vibe, women are creatives and the idea of hustling and grinding for anything goes against my very nature!

Over here, we work smarter, not harder.

But here’s the thing: you can’t build your dream life if you’re constantly running on empty.

Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.

It’s the foundation that allows you to show up for your business, your loved ones, and most importantly, yourself.

If your soul is calling you to quit your 9-to-5 and live a life of abundance, you have to prioritize taking care of yourself.

Self-Care Isn’t Just About Doing Nothing

One of the biggest misconceptions out there is that self-care means being lazy or doing nothing. Real self-care is intentional.

It’s about doing things that refill your cup and help you thrive, not just survive.

Here’s What It Looks Like:

  • Setting Boundaries: Saying no to people or things that drain you is a form of self-care. Save that energy to fuel yourself for what truly matters.
  • Staying Healthy: From eating nourishing food to moving your body, self-care helps you feel your best physically and mentally.
  • Recharging Your Creativity: Taking breaks and giving yourself time to rest actually makes you more productive and creative.

Take a few minutes each day to write down three things you’re grateful for. This simple practice shifts your mindset and helps you focus on the positives.

Let’s explore these self-care ideas for female entrepreneurs to keep you on the top of your game, no matter what business stage you are in.

11 Self-Care Ideas for Female Entrepreneurs

1. Be Intentional About Starting Your Day Slow

Our elders were right: There’s nothing like waking up and starting your day first thing in the morning. Spend 30 minutes of your day for yourself:

Brew a hot cup of coffee and tea and sit outside in solitude watching nature. The quiet stillness before the world wakes up is unmatched.

Just listening to the quiet of your mind or engaging in somatic breathing puts your energy in the right place. Just 10-15 minutes of yoga also works wonders.

Get your brain energized by recording thoughts and plans. Write down dreams from sleeping and ideas of gratitude at the start of every day.

This calm start sets the tone for a more productive day.

2. Create a No-Work Zone

This is something I’m still working on. Having the option to work from home and in bed, has been a game changer.

But I do find myself not as focused and getting spaced out more often. I would love to have a dedicated office that separates business from pleasure.

Try to dedicate one room or area in your home to relaxation only—no work allowed.

This could be your bedroom, a cozy chair, or even your bathtub. Having a physical boundary helps you mentally separate work from the rest.

3. Take Power Naps After Short Bursts of Productivity

Did you know taking naps is good for your health?

If you’re feeling tired around lunchtime, here are some benefits to encourage you to set an alarm, and get some extra shut-eye, guilt-free!

  • 10-15 minute nap: Helps with a quick energy boost and more alertness. I can’t do this but more power to those of you who can.
  • 30-40 minute nap: Improves alertness, creative energy, and mood aka the NASA nap, done by pilots and improving performance by 40%.
  • 60-minute nap: Improves memory for your favorite facts, heroes, figures etc. However, this time frame may lead to more grogginess when waking up.
  • 90 Minute: Improves emotional and procedural memory and creativity. Since 90 minutes is the amount of time it takes to undergo a full sleep cycle, you won’t feel groggy like you would from a 60-minute nap.

Not only will a nap reset and clear your mind to solve problems quicker, but you will feel refreshed and rested to be productive throughout the rest of the day.

4. Unplug Electronics for at Least an Hour Everyday

The boundaries between technology and real life are more blurred than ever which means you should be ever more strict than ever about drawing the line!

Don’t let your phone be the first thing you look at when you wake up. Turn off your phone more, close your laptop, and step away from screens for an hour.

Learn to embrace moments of boredom again without the pings of technology in the background. Use this time to read a book, take a walk, or simply sit in silence.

Disconnecting helps you reset, be grounded, and be emotionally regulated for any hurdles that may come your way.

5. Schedule a Weekly Self-Care Ritual That You Love

Pick one self-care activity to do every week, like a long bath, a face mask, or watching your favorite movie.

As a hair girlie, my favorite days are wash days on Sundays. I start from the moment with a hot shower, a wash and deep conditioning session, and listening to music as I pamper myself from head to toe.

Put it on your calendar like you would any other appointment to make it non-negotiable. Feeling refreshed and clean is the best way to start your week.

6. Declutter Your Workspace Before It Gets Overwhelming

A messy workspace or home can make you feel overwhelmed with a messy or cluttered mind. It’s impossible to produce high-quality work in this state.

Spend 10 minutes tidying up your desk or organizing your digital files, email, etc.

I don’t claim to have the most pristine space but just a little organization and storage can work wonders for your mental state.

A clean environment can clear your mind and boost productivity.

7. Do the Simple Thing and Take a Walk Outside

There’s nothing like letting the crisp, cool air energize you. Or if you’re like me, I love to bask in the hot sun on a walk.

No matter your preference, fresh air and movement can do wonders for your mood.

Whether it’s daydreaming in silence or listening to music through headphones, give your mind the space to be creative.

Smart entrepreneurs know that taking a step back often leads to breakthroughs.

8. Indulge in a Hobby That Has Zero to Do With Your Business

It is so important not to become obsessive over your business venture 24/7.

Making money should not be hard and I believe we should not be working for 8 hours a day.

We make money to live fulfilling lives doing other things. Make sure you find time for something you enjoy that’s completely unrelated to work.

Whether it’s painting, knitting, or gardening, hobbies give you a creative outlet and a break from thinking about business.

9. Drink More Water to Feel and Look Good

This is a simple classic tip that applies to so many things because it works.

Our bodies are made of 90% water and staying hydrated has a huge impact on your energy levels and overall health.

I have a cute pink water bottle on your desk to remind myself to drink throughout the day.

When you take care of yourself, you feel better—inside and out. Whether it’s sticking to a skincare routine or dressing up even when you’re working from home self-care builds your confidence.

10. Delegate the Stuff You Know You’re Not Good At or Simply Don’t Want To Do

Self-care for female entrepreneurs isn’t always about what you do—it’s also about what you don’t do.

Outsource tasks that drain you, like cleaning or bookkeeping, so you can focus on what truly matters.

You can’t make smart business decisions when you’re stressed or exhausted. Self-care clears your mind and helps you think more clearly.

Work in short bursts doing what you enjoy but decide on a time each day to stop working, no matter what.

11. Skip the Gym Cardio and Do a Slow Stretch with Yoga

Any type of self care for female entrepreneurs that relives tension and stress is helpful, but yoga is another level with minimal effort.

The breathing and stretching techniques of yoga wonders for the mind and body. You feel the benefits immediately and it’s the perfect way to start your day.

Try to wake up and invest in a few minutes of stretching before you even get out of bed. A yoga session as short as 10-15 minutes can relieve tension and boost your energy.

I also like to do a small routine at night in bed right with Yoga With Adrienne before I go to sleep. Yoga is the perfect way to find peace and health within during these tumultuous times!
